Job or Vacancy Description:
Engagement of Legal Retainers on contract basis.
The Central Information Commission has been created under the Right to Information Act 2005 for adjudication of appeals and complaints under the said Act. The Commission seeks to engage on contract basis upto 16 young law graduates.

Age as on last date : who have not completed 28 years
Consolidated sum : Rs. 25, 000/ p.m.

Qualification : Law graduates [from a recognized University or equivalent];

Functions :
(a) Preparing case briefs and identification of the legal issues.
(b) Legal research.
(c) Preparing counters for writ petitions.
(d) Any other legal work assigned by the Commission.

Selection : The selection shall be made on the basis of an interview by a Selection Committee. The engagement shall be on contract basis initially for a period of one year which may be extended for a maximum further period of two years at the discretion of the Competent Authority in the Commission subject to satisfactory performance of such person.

General Instructions:

2. Law graduates [from a recognized University or equivalent]; who have not completed 28 years of age as on the last date of the submission of applications are eligible to be considered for aforesaid engagement:-
3. The selection shall be made on the basis of an interview by a Selection Committee. The engagement shall be on contract basis initially for a period of one year which may be extended for a maximum further period of two years at the discretion of the Competent Authority in the Commission subject to satisfactory performance of such person.
4. The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated sum of Rs. 25, 000/ p.m.
5. The contract of legal retainers engaged may be terminated at any time by the Commission without assigning any reason by giving a notice of 15 days. In case, a legal retainer intends to leave during the period of the contract, he/she is required to give a notice in writing of at least 15 days in advance.

7. From 2010-11 onwards, the Commission has decided to receive the online return from Public Authorities on quarterly basis.Online quarterly return will be due immediately after the completion of every quarter.Public Authorities

8. After 15 days of the next quarter, Public Authorities can submit their return online but their names will appear in ‘LATE’ list.Public Authorities will not be able to submit the next quarter return without submitting the previous ones online.

About the organization ;
Central Information Commission will send an annual report to the Central Government on the implementation of the provisions of this law at the end of the year. The State Information Commission will send a report to the State Government .Each Ministry has a duty to compile reports from its Public Authorities and send them to the Central Information Commission or State Information Commission, as the case may be. Each report will contain details of number of requests received by each Public Authority, number of rejections and appeals, particulars of any disciplinary action taken, amount of fees and charges collected etc. Central Government will table the Central Information Commission report before Parliament after the end of each year. The concerned State Government will table the report of the State Information Commission before the Vidhan Sabha (and the Vidhan Parishad wherever applicable). (S.25)Subject to the provisions of this Act, it shall be the duty of the Central Information Commission or State Information Commission, as the case may be, to receive and inquire into a complaint from any person,—who has been unable to submit a request to a Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer, as the case may be, either by reason that no such officer has been appointed under this Act, or because the Central Assistant Public Information Officer or State Assistant Public Information Officer, as the case may be, has refused to accept his or her application for information or appeal under
