42.5% children under 5 years are underweight, 69.5% children under 5 years are anemic:- ministry

As per the National Family Health Survey-3 (NFHS-3), 2005-06, conducted by Ministry of Health and Family welfare, 42.5% children under 5 years are underweight and 69.5% children under 5 years are anemic. While underweight is 41.9% and 43.1% respectively for male and female children, anaemia among children under 5 years is 69.0% for male and 69.9% for female. The state-wise details are as follows-
