Appointment of Secretaries & Addt Secretaries
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Prem Narain as Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development vice Ms Neela Gangadharan on her retirement on 31.07.2012. Narain an IAS officer of 78 batch UP cadre is presently Principal Adviser, Planning Commission. Ms K.Ratnaprabha(IAS-KN-81), presently in the cadre was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development in the vacancy of Sudhir Kumar. Similarly, the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Anil Goswami IAS(JK:78), presently Special Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs as Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment vice K.M.Acharya on his retirement on 30.06.2012. Goswami was also given the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Disability Affairs from 01.07.2012. In some of the other orders, I.C.Goyal, presently Additional Secretary and Director General, CGHS in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was given the charge of Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat against the newly created post. Similarly, Vijay Shankar Madan, presently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture was appointed Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the vacancy of Saurabh Chandra.
