CBI ARRESTS A SENIOR MANAGER OF PNB FOR ACCEPTING A BRIBE OF Rs. 1.8 CRORE

JAIPUR 31 JULY

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Manager of Punjab National Bank, posted in Regional Stationary Department Centre, PNB House, Fort, Mumbai and another retired employee of PNB (presently Asset Recovery Agent for Punjab National Bank) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.8 crore from the complainant. It was alleged in the complaint that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs. 1.8 crore from the complainant to set aside the sale in auction of a building in Bandra (Mumbai).

CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.8 crore from the complainant.Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused persons in Mumbai, Patna and Bangalore which yielded a recovery of several incriminating documents.

Both the arrested accused were produced before the Designated Court at Mumbai and were remanded to Police custody till 3rd August, 2012.
