“Happy Heart Carnival” @ Fortis Hospital, celebrate Word Heart Day

  Mumbai 28th Sep 2012:  September 29th is celebrated all across as World Heart Day. To create awareness & take a pledge for keeping your Heart Healthy, Fortis Hospital today celebrates with unique program “Happy Heart Carnival”. More than 500 Sr. citizens, school & college going student, patient, doctor’s came together to take a pledge of healthy living. 1000 heart shape balloon released in air sending the message to world to keep your Heart Healthy.

Carnival conducted enter-tainment, info-tainment & Health-tainment. Free Health Checkup, Open air Aerobic Session with music, and Cookery contest for women on healthy diet as a part of Health-tainment . CPR training conducted to keep aware of last minute cardiac problem. Quiz session, Magician was part of entertainment.

Heart Diseases are becoming more prevalent among young Indian and greater awareness will help saving young lives. The changing life style in the form of rapid urbanization, sedentary life style along with the change in dietary patterns has lead to the emergence of increase heart disease in our population. Heart disease is prevalent among the people of age group 50 and above but surprisingly, there is expontial rise in the number of patients below 40 years of age. Heart diseases has taken an epidemic proportion, affecting all sections of society, rural and urban, rich and poor, old and young, It is the awareness, the recognition and the prevention is lacking. Aerobic exercise done 30 minutes a day is excellent for increasing your heart rate. Climbing the stairs, a brisk walk, orbital exercise machine or walking a treadmill.
